Local Threads Initiative: Community Cleanliness and Education

At Local Threads, we are all about sustainability and taking care of our environment. Our journey started with a simple school project, but it has grown into something much bigger and more impactful.
Objective: To inspire and educate communities to keep their surroundings clean and adopt eco-friendly practices, especially when it comes to dealing with used activewear.

The Approach

Community Outreach

We visit neighbourhoods and community centres, focusing on areas where litter and waste management are major concerns.

Fun and Educational Plays

With the support of our school and teachers, my friends and I perform engaging plays and skits. These shows are both fun and informative, helping everyone understand why it’s important to keep our environment clean.

Interactive Workshops

We organize workshops to discuss simple, practical steps for keeping our surroundings tidy. Topics include waste segregation, recycling, and reducing single-use plastics.

Clean-Up Drives

We team up with community members for clean-up drives, collecting litter, including old active-wear. These activities show how much of a difference we can make together.

Disposal and Donations

We collect our customers’ used active-wear and donate it to orphanages and recycling centres instead of disposing it. This way, old clothes get a second life and help those in need.
